Good afternoon Amy
I hope this email finds you doing well. I can't believe I am just now doing this, but I wanted to let you know that we had the best vacation ever during our stay at Casa Parota in Dec. My family and I rented the house Dec. 10 - 18 of 2011 and the house was beyond our expectations! There were days when we found ourselves just hanging out at the house not wanting to go out. But when we did it was awesome...for 8 days we felt like we actually lived there ;-). We got acquainted with the neighbor Wayne and even the neighborhood dog, Canelo ;-). Thank you so much for providing such an amazing place for vacationers to relax and enjoy. The cooks, the housekeeper, Gaby...everyone was on point to make our stay outstanding. We even had Maria come out twice for in-house massages...it was great! Your home provides everything and more to make your house a home away from home...from board games (with instructions ;-) to restaurant suggestions and tips on getting around town...top-notch customer service! As you might remember, we also had a wedding during our stay and we decided to have it at the house. The best decision ever...it was the most beautiful night. We did everything ourselves and your home provided so many options, I wanted to show you a few of the pictures so you could see the 'Amy and Bill' touch to the day ;-). The strange thing is, we found so many items in your home that matched the color palate of the wedding...we couldn't believe it! The pictures we took in the yard, and the open area next to the house, as well as the beach at sunset, were stunning. It was a magical night and we will never forget it.
We are already planning our next vacation and we will definitely be returning to Casa Parota!
Owner's Response: Hello Roz
THANK YOU so much for your note. It sounds like your wedding week was perfect with the cake from Pie in the Sky, Lupita the cook, and the masseuse ! We're so glad you had a good time. Keep us in mind for your anniversary - we aim to please. Your pictures were very fun - especially the picture of your wedding party on the stairs leading from the house to the park below.
Best, Amy and Bill
Dear Amy
We had a wonderful stay at Casa Parota, everything exceeded our expectations. The house is absolutely beautiful, impeccable and incredibly organized. We found everything we could possibly need in the house. Renting your Explorer made it so much more convenient and we were able to stop at the grocery store on our way from the airport when we arrived. Your manager John stopped by to see us the very next morning we arrived to make sure everything was ok. Your housekeeper Alicia was excellent, she left the house spotless every time. Your agent Gaby was out of town but gave us a call the day we were leaving to make sure everything was fine. La Cruz and the entire area was lovely including the dog who kept us company every time we walked to the beach. The week went by too fast but the memories will last forever. I would definitely recommend Casa Parota and would love to go back again.
Regards, The Medard Family from New York
Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments Medard Family. We are pleased you liked the Expedition SUV. It is great to hop in the car at the airport and be off on your own. I hope you found the GPS Nuvi useful, as well. It does take the stress out of knowing how to navigate your way around Puerto Vallarta. I'm sure Canelo, our neighborhood dog, appreciated your being at the house! Thank you also for your kind words about John, Gaby, and Alicia.
We had the most relaxing vacatio! Casa Parota was everything we expected and more! The house is immaculate, loved the Mexican artwork throughout. Enjoyed our morning coffee by the pool. The list you have made up of restaurants was very helpful; we loved "Mark's" in Bucieras and "Famar's" for great mexican food. Enjoyed having the rental car, took a day trip into Sayulita, great beach with waves for surfing and lots of little taco stands and surf shops! We hope to return to Casa Parota with our family and share this beautiful spot!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed our home. We try to keep the house updated and fresh for each of our guests. We are pleased, too, that you liked our art and the 2010 Ford Expedition. Bill and Amy.
Four of us stayed for a week at the beginning of December 2010. Everthing was fabulous and we were expecting to be impressed after seeing the lovely pictures. We were not disappointed in anything. We would definately go back and recommend this fine home. Went on a fishing charter from the marina that we had organized for a 50th birthday surprise. Loved Don Bidou's on the beach for margaritas (just past the marina). Perfect weather everyday. A true paradise!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind words, Deb. We try to keep an immaculate home and constantly update the house with new amenities. I haven't heard of the restaurant you suggest, we'll have to give it a try. Best, Amy
My husband and I and our 2 daughters (aged 19 & 22) spent 18 wonderful days at Casa Parota over the Christmas/New Years 2013-14 time-frame. From the security guards to the optional cook, the housekeeper and the neighbors - everyone was fantastic! (knowing a bit of Spanish helps as well to communicate better with the locals). Consider renting the Expedition. A great, safe and respected vehicle. Had a blast at the Mismaloya Zoo handling 2 tiger cubs and 1 lion cub; enjoyed beach bars in Bucerias to watch our Canadian hockey team while sipping fresh strawberry daquiries; LOVED 'Pie In The Sky' for amazing desserts; Frascati's in La Cruz has amazing lasagne and the Sunday market has a great variety of artisans and wares. Sayulita is a funky little town to watch surfers and eat chocolate covered bananas! And if you venture to Punta de Mita, look for Rudy who will take you whale watching. Guaranteed sightings or you don't pay! The Malecon in PV is fun, especially the Cheeky Monkey with their $1.00 marguaritas.  We also drove to Boca and took the water taxi to Yelapa. 2 pie ladies fight for your business. Watch out for the Iquana guys as they charge $5.00 U.S. per picture/per person! Grocery shopping is easy with the Mega fairly close by and the Costco in PV. The house itself is well stocked with spices; filtered water and a water cooler. Outside, there is seating for 22. No problem if you like to sit in the shade or laze in the sun. Great BBQ; nice view from the 2nd floor; and free calls to Canada and free WIFI came in very handy to keep in touch with work back home. The owner sends out the BEST informational package I have ever seen and she is easy to get hold of, even at the house. This is a great home away from home. Feels like your own private resort without having to fight for chairs!!

Owner's Response: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! We love these lovely reviews.
Glad you had a great time. It's fun to hear the personal stories of what you experienced when in PV - gave me new ideas to add to my booklet. We hope to see you again.

We have been coming to this house for many years. We like the location, the privacy and having a vehicle is such a bonus. This house is perfect for a group or just 2. We always have a great time and are sad to leave. Property manager John is very helpful with recommendations and is always available. The marina in La Cruz has some great restaurants or if you prefer the hustle and bustle PV is just a short drive.
Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review, Selena. We're glad that you had a great time and that you like the remodel. My husband Bill says that the way we remodel so often, it's like the Winchester Mystery House - but we like to ensure that the house is in tip-top shape and ready for new guests as well as returning guests! Hope to see you soon - Best, Amy and Bill
We had the most wonderful vacation. My husband and I were going for my birthday and seven friends flew in from Boston, New York City, Portland, OR and San Francisco! The house had everything we needed to make it a special week away. It has a big pool, fully stocked kitchen, a big SUV waiting for us at the airport; it was perfect! We could walk to town and never even made it into Puerto Vallarta. Between La Cruz, Bucerias, Sayulita and the beautiful beaches around there, we were entertained the whole week! We went on a boat to Las Marietas and would recommend it to all. We were the only ones on a deserted island. Thanks to Bill and Amy for the wonderful memories abroad! Can't wait to go back!
Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate that you like Mexico, La Cruz, and the house! Congrats on your birthday. Hope to see you again soon at Casa Parota. Bill and Amy
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Parota. After having such a perfect first visit in Feb 2011, a part of us was nervous to return to the same place for fear of ruining a perfect memory....however, it was perfect once again!
One of the surprises of the visit was the President of Mexico's visit to La Cruz, starting with the makeover blitz of La Cruz just ahead of his visit and the onslaught of what seemed like platoons of police/army into the area. We were actually pulled over by the army on our way back to the house from Destiladeras Beach and were pleasantly surprised by how polite and professional the officer was (despite my heart nearly pounding out of my chest when we got flagged over!).
During our stay our 17 month old ran a fever for a couple of days, so we ended up taking him see Dr. Mauro Malja Santoyo in Bucerias. Turned out he had an infection, which luckily was able to be rapidly dealt with using antibiotics. Just before heading out to the airport we realized we needed something to keep the antibiotics cold during the trip back, so we ended up using one of your small red cooler lunch bags (there were two of them in the lower drawer to the left of the water cooler). We're more than happy to mail the bag back to you, either to Mexico or Portland. If you'd like us to, just let us know where you'd like it sent.
Thank you for the privilege of letting us rent your home. We hope to be able to return again one day!
